OVERVIEW: Rent 3-bedroom unit #719299 for five days near the beach along 30A in the Florida Pan-handle. The unit should be available around 4PM EST and we must vacate around noon on the last day.
DATES: November 15, 16, 17, 18, 19. The total cost divided equally among three couples is $435.58 for the stay or about $87.32, which includes taxes, cancellation insurance, and damage insurance.
COMMENTS: The rental is confirmed. See Rental Confirmation post with all the details. Since Evans have been making this trip to the FL panhandle for nearly 20 years, they will provide a list of activities as we get closer to November.
TRANSPORTATION: Because of the large amount of luggage, beach gear, and bicycles, we need to take at least two vehicles. That also provides some flexibility in activities while in Florida. The drive takes 8 hours (approx). Recommend departing Hendersonville around 7AM and stopping near Montgomery (Peach Park, mm 205) around noon for lunch.
Two vehicles also give us and wives more flexibility. I will be glad to offer up the gray Odyssey as one of the vehicles. We may also tack on a daughter visit (unless you guys want to go to Sarasota also).
ReplyDeleteYour van and my van should be adequate to haul all our "beach balls" to Florida. maybe you can talk the Day's to accompany you to Sarasota. Sharyn is anxious to get home post-trip to prepare for her family Thanksgiving dinner.
DeleteI'd given fleeting thought to leaving a day or two early and spending time at our Cullman cabin to visit family and break up the trip. November is a long time away for us to be making such precise plans. Most likely we'll accommodate whatever works best for all.
ReplyDeleteCertainly understand the desire to break the trip up with an intermediate stop. It is an 8-hr drive. We have done the trip over a dozen times. We prefer departing early (no later than 7A) and doing the travel in one day. Our typical practice is to drive to Peach Park (close to halfway), relax for about an hour with lunch, and then complete the drive. First half is all Xprswy while the second half is all rural roads. The rental is available after 4PM EST. Multiple cars allows each to do what works best for them. We will need two for sure.
