OVERVIEW: Rent 3-bedroom unit #719299 for five days near the beach along 30A in the Florida Pan-handle. The unit should be available around 4PM EST and we must vacate around noon on the last day.
DATES: November 15, 16, 17, 18, 19. The total cost divided equally among three couples is $435.58 for the stay or about $87.32, which includes taxes, cancellation insurance, and damage insurance.
COMMENTS: The rental is confirmed. See Rental Confirmation post with all the details. Since Evans have been making this trip to the FL panhandle for nearly 20 years, they will provide a list of activities as we get closer to November.
TRANSPORTATION: Because of the large amount of luggage, beach gear, and bicycles, we need to take at least two vehicles. That also provides some flexibility in activities while in Florida. The drive takes 8 hours (approx). Recommend departing Hendersonville around 7AM and stopping near Montgomery (Peach Park, mm 205) around noon for lunch.

PLAN
IDEA: Rent two units for three or four days near the beach along 30A in the Florida Pan-handle.
DATES: November Optional (14), 15, 16, 17, 18. Because a two-bedroom unit rents for only Saturday to Saturday, I would suggest dividing the total cost equally among five couples, which would be in the neighborhood of $340 to $380/couple for the stay or about $76/night. There may be some additional costs for damage insurance.
We may have to juggle this plan based on who is willing/able to commit. The plan is optimal for three and five couples. With four couples we could rent two of the 2-bedroom units and the cost would be in the neighborhood $425/couple.
COMMENTS: Evans have been renting in this area for about 20 years. In their most recent trip they found a rental project that is in a quiet area and about 100 feet from the beach. It was the opinion of the family (son, daughter-in-law, and two teenage grand-daughter that this place was the best they had rented. They liked the seclusion and essentially private beach, plus comfortable bedrooms and living area. It was located half-way between popular destinations of Seaside and Seacrest and near Panama City Beach and Destin.
The only negative was the rental does not offer a pool, tennis courts, golf, etc.
ISSUE: In order to insure we have a place we need to commit ASAP, because these places fill up - preferably before July 31'st.
COMMITTED:
- Bruce and Wilma Day
- Tom and Sharyn Evans
- Dave and Alicia Shumaker
